Track.5: Sweet Medicine
Lyrics by Chris Fisher.

A lone shadow of a man stands across a barren plain. The least of seven young men. Carries the bounty of the gods. And in the wisdom of his words rings the chime of salvation. A means of order to a land. True honour. *Can you hear them in the night the victims of some foolish stand. Once proud peoples lives denied - and I could never understand. And if you knew what I know now you’d find it hard to feel the same. Just step outside your squares of life. Over time these great men fell target to a ruthless breed. Raided on their own lands. Sappa Creek tragedy. Stripped of their homes and food they ran towards the north, to higher land. Out gunned and out manned. No justice. *Can you hear them in the night the victims of some foolish stand. Once proud’s peoples lives denied and I could never understand. And if you knew what I know now you’d find it hard to feel the same. Just step outside your squares of life. Now on reservation soil these people battle still in life. Working hard to carry on. Almost all their lands now gone. But look into the eyes of men and see that soul remains unscathed. Strength and pride in every one. Real power.
