Track.11:
Lakota Spirit
Lyrics by Andrew Hogarth.
In
the days before the white man came into our lands. The Lakota
people were free and their spirits soared high. Later on we found
out at the Blue Water Slim Buttes and Wounded Knee. That his treaties
were like twigs, easily broken and carried by the wind. * Take
flight Lakota Nations like the eagle above your lands. Fly high
Lakota Nation and continue to inspire your brother man. Our leaders
were wise and noble men Sitting Bull Red Cloud and many more.
They understood that with passing of time the Lakota Nation would
be no more. At the Greasy Grass we fought one last time to preserve
our way of life. Like leaves on the autumn winds the bluecoats
fell dying to the ground. * Take flight Lakota Nations like the
eagle above your lands. Fly high Lakota Nation and continue to
inspire your brother man. We could never understand their greed
for more land. Keeping us hungry destitute and penned up in reservation
lands. Even with empty bellies our soul has still survived. Our
young men are strong hearts once again. They could never ever
break our pride. * Take flight Lakota Nations like the eagle above
your land. Fly high Lakota Nation and continue to inspire your
brothers. Fly high Lakota Nation like the eagle above your lands.
Take fight Lakota Nations and continue to inspire your brother
man.
